There’s a new whiskey game in town called The Whiskey Barrel. It’s located in the charming and booming seaside village of Port Jefferson, and it wants to make a statement! The Whiskey Barrel opened it doors on Friday, May 28, 2021.
Their slogan is Barrel Strength, but this place is more than just a slogan. This is all about quality and delivering a unique product to Long Islanders. The Whiskey Barrel is also about making no compromises!

This is a spot that is looking to bring something unique, not just to Port Jefferson, but really to Long Island in general. This place is all about the drink! They are also all about simple ingredients, great taste, fun experience, and…whiskey!
The Drinks
These options are all offered as 1 oz pours, either neat, over ice or in a cocktail for you to enjoy!
Bourbon
Based on their menu, they are currently serving over 90 different types of bourbon served in 1 oz. pours! That’s a ridiculous amount of options right there. There’s something for everyone on this list, and that’s the point. They are all about showing their customers options and value in an approachable way for all.
Scotch
In addition to bourbon, they offer close to 20 different varieties of Scotch, including Glenfiddich and Glenlivet.
Irish Whiskey
What list would be complete without Irish Whiskey?? The Whiskey Barrel offers about dozen or so bottles of Irish Whiskey to round out their 1 oz pour menu options.
Cocktails
As any good whiskey loving establishment should offer, there are a number of great cocktail options to be had as well. It’s not just 1 oz pours here! Think Manhattans, Old Fashioned and Lemonades to quench your whiskey loving thirst.
While they love whiskey, they do have a fully stocked bar to create your favorite cocktail made with your favorite spirit! We would be happy to make it for you!
Wine and Beer
While whiskeys and cocktails are great, sometimes we all just want something a little easier to drink, right? There’s a great selection of red, white and rose wines available by the bottle, glass, or as part of a tasting flight.
The Food
Not only does The Whiskey Barrel offer a ton of high quality drink options, they also offer a really great menu that should be able to satisfy everyone in your party. The food is comforting yet creative and all about homemade
Check out the wings, coconut shrimp, charcuterie board, or pub pretzel to start. They even make their own Cajun Brown Sugar Potato Chips and Breaded Pickle Chips Served with Sriracha Aioli!! Enjoy a garden, seared tuna, or wedge salad, too.
If you are looking for something perhaps more filling to hold, check out their awesome list of sandwiches. A number of burger (including Impossible Burger) options look great. As do the chicken sandwiches. I would personally go with the fish and chips, Cuban, or Japanese pork Katsu sandwich. Is that a bacon Sriracha sandwich I see?
Cigars
This awesome spot is not only about eating and drinking and offers something else I truly enjoy every now and again! They offer a great selection of cigars available for purchase to take and enjoy as you walk around the beautiful village of Port Jefferson!!
