Daunt’s Albatross Motel

At first glance, Daunt’s Albatross Motel isn’t that different from all other gorgeous Montauk hotels, but there is something exceptional about this family-owned hotel. It belongs to the Daunt family, big Montauk fans who were so in love with the place that they opened a lodging business to share this paradise with as many people as possible. Unlike other hotels in the area, Daunt’s Albatross Motel is open year-round as the Daunt family firmly believes that Montauk is beautiful in any season, and there is always something to see and do.

If you stay at the hotel, you can count on the staff and the owners who live on-premises to give you recommendations and tell you about hidden local gems. And for most attractions, you won’t even have to travel far because the motel has a very strategic location; beaches, bars, restaurants, nature trails, shops, and everything else you need is just a walk away.

The accommodations in Daunt’s Albatross Motel are also exceptional. There are several room options: a queen bed or two twins, deluxe suites, ADA accessible, and pet-friendly rooms. Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina

Hartman’s Briny Breezes Beach Resort

Hartman’s Briny Breezes Beach Resort is one of those hotels where your every need is thought of and provided for before you even ask for it. It’s a family-owned resort that features 44 recently renovated spacious rooms with a full kitchen, shared terrace or balcony, and stunning ocean views. There are four types of rooms in this hotel: one-bedroom suite, deluxe one-bedroom suite, deluxe studio apartment, and ADA accessible queen rooms. All accommodations have plenty of space, are clean, tastefully decorated, and are suitable for up to four people.

The resort is located across the street from the beach, so that’s the main advantage people choose Briney Breezes for, but the hotel also offers you an outdoor heated pool, plenty of green space, outdoor BBQ grills and dining areas, and tee times reserved for guests at the local golf course. It’s an excellent option for a quiet relaxing time away from the constant noise of the city and some quality family time, but if you find you wouldn’t mind a couple of drinks at a bar, the town center is close enough to make it happen. It’ll take you only a 3-minute drive or a 20-minute walk to reach your destination (as in bars, restaurants, shops, and other activities).

Haven

Booking a room at Haven Montauk is like renting a small private villa on the beach, and if you’d like to experience that feeling while being on a budget, this is it. The privacy and the feeling of being the only one on the property are possible because of the size of the hotel and the beach it’s located next to.

Have is a boutique hotel with only 27 rooms for up to four guests each, so even when it’s fully booked, you won’t see that many people on the premises. There are several room options available – classic and premium studios and 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. All accommodations are beautifully decorated and cozy and come with A/C, cable TV, mini-fridge. Most rooms are pet-friendly, except for premium studios which offer gorgeous sunset views instead. The apartments also include a full kitchen equipped with pots, pans, dishware, and utensils.

The sandy beach Haven Montauk is located across the street from is the quietest in Montauk, so it’s very easy to feel like you are on a private beach. Apart from beach access, Haven has a lot of great amenities – complimentary paddleboards, an outdoor pool with a hammock, sunbeds, lounge chairs, a barbeque grill, a garden area, free coffee and breakfast pastries. And in the evenings, you can enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the fire pit and s’mores. Oh, also, the hotel provides complimentary bikes (on the first come, first served basis); you can make the short walk to Montauk Harbor bars and restaurants even shorter by getting there on a bicycle.

Hero Beach Club

Hero Beach Club often gets booked as a wedding venue, and the reason for that is obvious once you stay at the hotel. Everything about it says romance and love – from the minimalist ocean-themed rooms to the Bali-style pool area.

This two-story hotel has 30 rooms in total, including standard, deluxe, two- and three-room suites, and accessible rooms. All accommodations come with a TV, mini-bar, tablets, beach towels, hairdryer; an iron and ironing board is available per request. Some of the rooms have a private balcony or patio with ocean views.

You might mistake Hero Beach Club as a beachfront property because it’s so close to the Umbrella beach, but it’s not actually on the beach. You’ll still have to walk to the beach, although the walk will be super short. Beanbags, loungers, and umbrellas are free for hotel guests. The outdoor heated pool and its surrounding area are also great for relaxing and sunbathing. Add to that spa treatments – and you are in paradise. In the mornings, there is free coffee, tea, and bagels in the lobby; in the evenings, you can sit by the fire pit and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the garden. Hero Beach Club also organizes movie nights, s’more roasting, and yoga classes for the guests.

Kenny’s Tipperary Inn

Kenny’s Tipperary Inn will be the perfect option for you if you a) are looking for a budget-friendly place, b) are visiting Montauk during the off-season, and/or c) aren’t that into beach vacations. The 33-room hotel isn’t located close to the beach, but it makes up for this disadvantage by setting more than affordable prices while providing clean comfortable accommodations, great amenities, and attentive service. Also, the inn is located in the heart of Montauk Harbor, so you’ll still have access to plenty of shops and restaurants, and most of Montauk’s attractions are within a 10-minute drive.

You might think that because Kenny’s Tipperary Inn is more affordable than other hotels in the area, you’ll have to make do without some comforts offered by said hotels. But it’s not like that at all; the rooms in Kenny’s Tipperary Inn are just as good. There are one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments as well as standard and premium rooms. All units are equipped with A/C, mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, and private or shared balconies or patios. The apartments also include a living area, a dining area, and a full kitchen with a dishwasher, stove, cookware, and tableware.

The hotel amenities won’t disappoint you either; there is an outdoor pool, a deck with sun loungers, a picnic area with two barbeque grills for guests, a Zen garden, and two outdoor fire pits. And if you need anything, you only need to ask; the Kenny’s Tipperary Inn’s staff is very accommodating and will help you with anything – from providing a free beach pass to booking activities, such as fishing, hiking, or golfing.

Marram Montauk

In my opinion, each tourist place must have a hotel or resort dedicated to letting people just unwind, reconnect with nature, and recuperate. Because sometimes traveling isn’t about sightseeing; sometimes it’s about taking a step back from your life, changing things up a bit, and gaining a new perspective. And that’s exactly what Marram Montauk offers you – the peace and relaxation you need.

Marram Montauk has 96 rooms designed in a minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing way. The units are divided into four categories – beachfront, oceanview, courtyard, and dune, and each category has several subcategories – queen, king, and balcony/no balcony rooms. All accommodations are screen-free to provide the most quality rest for you, but other amenities, such as A/C, complimentary toiletries, coffee and tea maker, etc., are included.

The activities Marram hotel arranges for its guests are also designed to help you relax. You can participate in morning yoga and meditation, nature walks, exploring Montauk by bicycle, creative workshops, evening Yin and Pranayama. If you aren’t one for group activities, you can have some me-time by the oceanfront outdoor freshwater pool, watching a sunset on the beach of Shadmoor State Park, or enjoying the complimentary s’mores by the nightly fire pits. Whatever way you prefer to unwind, you’ll be able to do it here, and after just a few days at Marram Montauk, you’ll be as fresh as a daisy.

The Montauk Beach House

Are you looking for a Montauk hotel where you can have a hen party or just have an awesome time with your friends without having to censor yourself around guests with kids? Well, you’ve found it. With its adult-oriented atmosphere, DJs, and pool parties, The Montauk Beach House is ideal for a crazy weekend getaway with friends. It features 33 spacious bright rooms, two swimming pools, a poolside bar, free breakfast, and its location is so great that going to a shop will take almost the same time as getting to the beach.

While the room design might not be the priority when you are choosing a hotel for a fun trip since you’ll probably only sleep there, beautiful accommodations are always a lovely bonus. And the rooms at Montauk Beach House are truly beautiful. The decor gives off a rustic/chic vibe with vintage elements. There are five types of accommodations at the hotel: Moonlight rooms that overlook the pools, Whitewater Lofts with private balconies, Whitewater Garden with outdoor terrace and daybeds, Oceanmist Terrace rooms located near the pool, and The Bungalow (a standalone 3-bedroom unit). All rooms are equipped with A/C, flat-screen TV, bathroom with shower, and toiletries.

Montauk Blue

Montauk Blue Hotel, previously known as Ocean Beach Resort, is a favorite for many regular visitors of Montauk. After all, what’s there not to love? Breathtaking views of the beach and ocean visible from your balcony? Check. Great location and everything is walkable from the hotel? Check. Clean comfortable rooms and polite staff? Check, check. An indoor swimming pool, hot tub, and beach service with chairs and umbrellas? Check, check, check.

Montauk Blue features 82 stylish rooms divided into oceanfront King, oceanfront Queen, and Queen rooms without the water view. As you might have guessed, the blue color plays the main part in the decor; the floor, the walls, pillows, furniture, and several other items in the room are in all known shades of blue. You’d think that it’d be too much, but no, the colors somehow work out just fine, and rooms seem pretty welcoming. All units come with a mini-fridge, a small dining area, microwave, coffeemaker, HDTV, and a sleeper sofa. Irons, iron boards, and hair dryers are available per request but must be signed out at the front desk. Overall, Montauk Blue is a great place for a vacation where you can enjoy easy access to the beach, lovely sunsets in the comfort of your private terrace, and accommodating service.

Montauket

Montauket is a bar, a restaurant, and a budget hotel. The bar and restaurant is a popular destination because it offers the most stunning sunset views with delicious food, a great variety of drinks, and live music. The hotel, however, isn’t fancy at all. It’s basically a house attached to the restaurant, and the rooms don’t have a private bathroom or a TV. But it’s the best deal you can find in Montauk, so if you are on a tight budget or prefer to spend your money on attractions and other fun stuff instead of luxurious accommodations, Montauket will be perfect for you.

Montauk Manor

If you’ve ever wished for a Gold Coast mansion in Montauk, Montauk Manor is your dream come true. Built in 1927 by multi-millionaire industrialist Carl Fisher as a summer resort for the rich and famous, this Tudor Revival-style hotel offers you the grandeur of a luxurious lifestyle and comfortable accommodations for a reasonable price all in one place.

Montauk Manor consists of 140 individually owned condominium apartments (from studios to 3-bedroom units), so there is no one theme or color palette when it comes to decor. Also, each apartment has its own number of amenities provided, but the basic things, such as A/C, screen-flat TV, and Wi-Fi, are included. All apartments have a full kitchen or kitchenette, but you should confirm what appliances and cookware are available in your unit before you book it.

Apart from lovely apartments and a majestic elegant lobby with a cozy fireplace, Montauk Manor has all the amenities you need – outdoor and indoor pools, sauna, whirlpool, day spa, exercise room, tennis court, meeting spaces, BBQ grills, a restaurant, and more. There is literally no reason for you to leave the premises, unless, of course, you want to explore Montauk. If you do want to see all the famous Montauk attractions, you should know that the hotel is a bit far away from them, but there is a free shuttle service to town and beaches throughout the day.

The Ocean Resort Inn is one of those hotels that quickly become your favorite because of its universal nature. Spending some quality time with your partner, exploring Montauk with your friends or family, or a solo vacation – the affordable practical rooms at The Ocean Resort Inn are suitable for any occasion.

The studios and suites also come with a sitting area.

The Ocean Resort Inn’s practicality is in its facilities and location, too. The beach is only 65 footsteps away, and reaching downtown Montauk will also take no more than five minutes by walk. Ocean Surf Resort

To imagine what Ocean Surf Resort looks like without seeing its pictures, you only have to remember what surfing is about. The blue sky, the warm sun, the beach, the waves, fun, and smiles, right? Well, that’s what staying at Ocean Surf Resort feels like. The light blue boutique motel-style hotel offers you oceanfront rooms with a private balcony or sundeck, cable TV and HBO, A/C, and an efficiency kitchen that includes a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, oven, toaster, stovetop. When you book a room, you’ll be presented with a choice between Silver Studio (no stove and limited ocean views), Oceanfront Gold (with a direct view of the ocean), and Beachfront Platinum (on the beach).

Although the rooms are lovely and comfortable, the main advantage of Ocean Surf Resort is its location. Having the beach within a couple of steps from your bed is truly incredible. You can rent beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas if you need them. Apart from the beach, you’ll have access to an outdoor heated pool, pool deck, and a barbeque area with two grills and picnic tables. Royal Atlantic Beach Resorts

Royal Atlantic Beach Resorts consists of three two-story motel-style buildings, 150 guestrooms, two outdoor swimming pools, a game room with arcades and table tennis, picnic and barbeque area. It’s a beachfront property, and some of the rooms have direct access to the beach. Montauk’s town center is also not far away (a 15-minute walk away).

Royal Atlantic Beach Resorts accommodations range from ocean view rooms to 3-bedroom 2-baths Captain Quarters. If you are a couple or a solo traveler, then the Ocean View, Oceanfront, VIP suites on the first floor, VIP suites on the second floor, or Ocean View Extra Large rooms are more suitable for you. These are single-room units with efficiency or full kitchens, and some of them have private balconies. If you are traveling with a group, you should consider booking 2-bedroom VIP suites (suitable for up to five people), an oceanfront 2-story luxury condominium (two bedrooms and a living room with a fireplace), or The Captain Quarters. Sole East Beach

Sole East Beach can be easily mistaken for its luxurious, higher-priced brother Sole East Resort. While the resort is definitely worth checking out if you can splurge, Sole East Beach provides just as good service as its brother. And I mean it quite literally as all guests of Sole East Beach have free access to all facilities and services of Sole East Resort, including the pool and the gardens.

However, Sole East Beach has its own attractions, and it’s not only the affordability. For one, it’s located across the street from the beach. There is ample free parking. The location is great, too, with Montauk Point State Park, Deep Hollow Ranch, and Camp Hero State Park, and plenty of dining options all within a 5-minute walk. And the rooms are just the way you want them – clean and comfortable.

Sole East Beach features 26 recently renovated rooms with high thread-count Italian cotton linens, a coffee maker (free coffee pods included), a mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, A/C, Aveda bath products, and complimentary beach towels. And if there is anything you need during the stay – from an extra blanket to travel tips – the friendly and accommodating hotel staff will make sure you’ll have it.

Sole East Resort

Sole East Beach has an uncanny ability to change its ambiance depending on the season and the crowd. The 67-room hotel can be as wild and fun as it can get with DJ, loud music, and weekend pool parties, but give it a few days, and the only way to describe Sole East Resort will be peaceful, relaxing, calm. It’s like the hotel has two completely opposite personalities, but you’ll love them both.

Sole East Resort features an American Tudor building with 60 renovated bungalow-style rooms and seven garden-side and pool-side cabana suites. The accommodations are small but cozy, simple yet stylish, and come with a flat-screen TV, iPod docks, A/C, Aveda bath products, pool and beach towels. The new pillow-top King size mattresses and high thread-count Italian cotton linens will make sleeping like a baby a default state in this bed. There are several pet-friendly rooms, but a $300 fee applies, and you should check the availability beforehand.

The amenities available on the premises of Sole East Resort are awesome, too. There is a heated outdoor pool, St. Tropez-style poolside beds, 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens with hammocks, outdoor seating and wood-burning fire-pit, bike rentals, and more. The staff and the service are simply incredible; they treat every guest like a VIP. You’ll see that their motto “Lavish without attitude” is really what Sole East Resort is about.

Sun N’ Sound

Sun N’ Sound is the perfect name for this 35-room family-friendly hotel. This is the place in Montauk where you come to enjoy the sound of the ocean and the warmth of the sun in the comforts of homey spacious rooms. Gorgeous sunsets are included in the price, too.

Located on the bayside of Montauk, Sun N’ Sound offers a refreshing perspective of Montauk for regular visitors. So if you feel like you’ve seen it all but haven’t stayed at the hotel yet, you definitely haven’t seen it all. Sun N’ Sound is quiet and removed from all the noise but still close enough to downtown for you to pop in and out. The hotel offers you 35 units with bay and pool views (tip: get the bayfront room), ranging from one-room suites to Deluxe Suite with a Loft. All accommodations include a full kitchen.

The amenities at Sun N’ Sound might not be the fanciest – a swimming pool, barbeque and picnic areas, and sundeck – but the people who can truly appreciate the beauty of this hotel aren’t interested in numerous lavish facilities. How do you know if you are one of those people? Easy. If you feel happy just sitting by the water drinking wine and watching the sun go down, you’ll have no complaints about Sun N’ Sound.

Surf Lodge

Many people treat Montauk as the ultimate summer holiday destination because of its beaches and laid-back atmosphere, but it’s so much more. It’s a place where creativity flows; it’s the inspiration source for many New York writers, poets, musicians, and artists. And the Surf Lodge is just the right hotel for this kind of crowd.

Surf Lodge is an Irish dive bar remade into a 20-room hotel overlooking Fort Pond. It’s just a short walk away from the town and some of the coolest restaurants and sunset spots in the area. You can use the complimentary fixie bikes to get around on the weekdays. There’s also a shuttle service in a BMW on the weekends. Other awesome amenities of the hotel include a sundeck, a restaurant serving contemporary coastal cuisine, a beach lounge, and of course, live music performances.

The facilities are scarce compared to other lavish resorts in Montauk, but when you stay at Surf Lodge, you stay for the live music and the rooms. The 20 rooms offered by the hotel all overlook Fort Pond. They come with a private balcony and a hammock. There are standard rooms (one king-sized bed, private bathroom), Junior Suites (two queen-sized beds, one bathroom), and Master Suites (two bedrooms, two bathrooms). The decor of the rooms is surfer boho-chic and minimalistic with wood elements. The accommodations feel very airy, open, and gorgeous. On weekends, there is a complimentary mini-bar stocked with bathroom essentials.

The rooms, the restaurant, Fort Pond – everything about Surf Lodge is so artistic. So if you are struggling with a block and need a creativity boost, you know where to go.
