Greenport Restaurants You Need To Visit

Seriously…how many places are better than the North Fork? Not many, especially in the fall! Head to the North Fork of Long Island for pumpkin and apple picking, as well as the hard cider, wine and beer tasting, of course, but stay for all the fantastic Greenport restaurants.

There’s Something About Greenport

While there are so many wonderful towns on the North Fork (Jamesport, Southold, Cutchogue, and more), perhaps the main hub of the region is Greenport. The seaside town is really hopping and packed with amazing shopping, dining, and waterfront activities.

You’ll love the 19th century vibe of this lively village that has lured dozens of restaurants in the last decade. You don’t have to worry about eyebrow-raising prices, judge-y style watchers, or get that uneasy feeling of being not quite cool enough for the matre de either. It’s a laid back, relaxed vibe and it’s awesome.

So after some boutique shopping and a spin on Michell Park’s antique carousel, come out to Main and Front Streets when you get hungry. Greenport, NY is more than just oysters (though they are pretty amazing) and a harbor view. When you’re in search of delicious food, these Greenport restaurants should be on your list.

Green Hill Kitchen and Que

This is all about serious ‘cue right here. Chef and Pitmaster Matty Boudreaux knows his stuff and has a number of awards and championships to prove it.

The focus is on barbecue staples like brisket and pulled pork, but with lobster rolls, smoked jackfruit, and fried calamari added to the menu for variety and depth.

Bruce & Son

Bruce & Son has been a fixture on Main Street since it opened in 1974. but a 2017 gut renovation brought it firmly into the today. We are talking big time breakfast and lunch in this spot now, with an emphasis on innovative spins on classics, riffs on more exotic ethnic dishes, and focus on what’s local

The menu is served all day and is rather affordable given the style and quality. Also be on the lookout for the wonderful Paw Paw pop-up!

1943 Pizza Bar

Pizza is my favorite food and this is a place that does it well. What started out as a pizza truck became a quaint little pizzeria with some really great food overlooking a fantastic courtyard in the Stirling Square complex.

Sit inside or outside at this casual neighborhood favorite and order whatever type of pizza you can imagine. I mean the “New Haven pizza” is topped with mashed potatoes! Get a NY style regular, a margherita, and more. So many toppings and styles to enjoy. `The meatballs are some of the best around, too! For a sweet treat to end the meal, try the fig and goat cheese cheesecake. So good!

noah’s

Chef Noah Schwartz and his New American fare has been a huge hit in town since 2010. Think small plates, seafood, deviled eggs and a wonderful lobster roll to start.  No matter the menu item, the main focus is and always has been Long Island “farm to fork” fare sourced from local farmers and fisherman.

Porto Bello

After over 25 years, new owners have taken the reins at this waterfront spot (located in Safe Harbor’s Greenport Marina). With the place essentially closed down due to COVID, a full renovation took place, brightening up the spot and giving just about everywhere in the space water views.

Just outside the Village of Greenport, this hidden gem really pops now with a beautiful, very nautical feel to match it’s maritime surroundings. Think classic Italian dishes with a heavy emphasis on seafood.
